Summer Solstice ~~ A time for harvest

As we move closer to Summer Solstice on the 21st or September, we are moving closer to the time to reap the harvest of the last year. We planted spiritual seeds and watered them, nurturing them with love and trust. Some grew as we hoped and some are still in the process of sprouting. Either way, it is time to take stock of what we have accomplished and what we are actually harvesting.

Perhaps you can write a list of what you have accomplished the last year and start it out with the following words….I AM GRATEFUL FOR….. Take a moment to feel pride in your accomplishments and hard work. As we honor the sun cycle, perhaps you want to thank the Sun for its care of us and the planet.

If you would like to honor a Sun Goddess and give thanks for your harvest, let me introduce you to the Japanese Shinto Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu. It is said that all Light originated with her.

You can use any of the following items to place on your altar to give gratitude to the Sun Goddess: Sun images, rice, siders, snakes, chamomile, marigold, carnation, sunflower, chrysanthemum, rosemary, amber, sunstone, ruby, gold, copper, and bronze. Take a moment to light a candle or incense and thank the Goddess of the Sun for her care and helping you grow and manifest your desires.

However you honor the Summer Solstice, I pray you are blessed and feel the love of the Goddess.

Love and Light,

Nelle Mack
